Barbell Squat
The Barbell Squat is a powerful compound exercise that targets multiple muscle groups simultaneously. It primarily engages the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes, while also working the calves, core, and lower back. To perform the exercise, position a loaded barbell across your upper back, gripping it with an overhand grip wider than shoulder-width apart. With feet shoulder-width apart, descend by bending your knees and hips, keeping your back straight and chest up. Lower until your thighs are parallel to the ground, then push through your heels to stand back up. Maintain proper form throughout, ensuring knees track over toes and avoiding excessive forward lean.
